Mark your calendars! September 4th is Bergdorf Goodman’s anniversary. The luxury retailer is celebrating its 111 years in business. Woww! 111 what a special number, and to celebrate 111 designers will design 111 special limited edition (ohh we all love that word) items to honor the retailer. (Hush hush: Gucci was asked to design one product but instead designed 8! we cant wait to see them) Products were made for every single division and floor in the women’s and men’s stores.
As other way of commemorating the special 111, the store will celebrate with several events and special store features.
-New shoe salons for their contemporary floor as well as in the men’s store
-Shop-in-shops for The Row and Valentino
-Christian Dior beauty shop
-Expanded Little BG children’s area complete with a candy bar.
-Pop-up shop on its main floor with designer exclusives, “for a good sampling of what’s being sprinkled throughout the store.”
-The luxury room on the main floor will get a bamboo and orchid installation designed by Belgian artist Daniel Ost
-The fourth floor will get a “Modernist Lab” for the most “advanced” designer collections
-Special surprise for the store windows.
The last time Bergdorf threw themselves a birthday party was back in 1951 at the Plaza. This year is no different. Want an inside scoop? a party will held at The Plaza this year (private, of course) where guests will watch the documentary from the book Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman.
We can wait to see the limited editions items and to know the list of the designers. We will keep you posted, for sure!
